Joyful screams filled the air at the queen's park steel shed as 16 year old Ashley Murphy, Miss Desmond's Restaurant, was announced queen at the 12th annual Miss Teen Barbados Universal pageant held Sunday night. Murphy, who also won Miss Punctuality, Most Discipline delegate and Best Performance Swimwear, will therefore go on to represent Barbados in the Miss Teen Universal show which would be held in Barbados. Second place went to Janelle Defreitas, Miss Images Photo Studio. Defreitas also won Best Gown. Third place went to  Adriana Bailey, Miss Black Opel. Bailey coped the prizes of Best Talent and Best Project.

Bahamian Jasmine Forbes was crowned Miss Teen Universal 2010 last Sunday night at the Lyod Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Forbes received the title along with US $2000 among other prizes, after winning this year's pageant organised by Sparkles International, where she competed against six other contestants who represent regional and international.

Forbes, a regular pageant competitor, took home the prizes of Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Best Talent and Best Gown.

First Runner-up was awarded to Miss Guyana Seistra Allen while second runner-up was awarded to Miss Canada Danika Ouellet.
